Buckeye, AZ - Terry Lee Coxson, born on November 8, 1946, in Warren, Ohio, passed away peacefully on December 24, 2024, in Buckeye, Arizona. He was 78 years old.
Terry was the beloved son of Charlie and Julia Coxson, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife, Phyllis Coxson; his children, Kimberly Ruckh (Scott) and Brian Coxson (Kari); and his cherished grandchildren, Aschton Ruckh, Jett Coxson, and Slade Coxson. He also leaves behind his siblings, Shirley Bartynski (John) and Tim Coxson (Jean). Terry and Phyllis moved to Arizona in 2006 where he enjoyed golfing and watching Ohio sports, especially Ohio State.
A dedicated educator and coach for 35 years, Terry spent 34 of those years teaching at Champion High School in Warren, Ohio. His passion for mentoring extended beyond the classroom as he coached high school football, basketball, baseball, and track for an impressive 38 years at Champion High School, Mathews High School, and Lakeview High School. Through his work as a teacher and coach, Terry touched countless lives and inspired generations of students and athletes.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Liberty United Methodist Church, 19900 W MC 85, Buckeye, Arizona in Terry's memory.
Terry's legacy of dedication to education and sports will live on in the hearts of those who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to all who were fortunate enough to share in his life.
