Goodyear, AZ - Sandra Jean Haiflich, 79, of Goodyear, Arizona, passed away on December 10, 2025.

Sandra was born to Carl and Dorothy Boneff in Fort Wayne, Indiana, on October 13, 1946. She enjoyed bicycling, reading, and riding her horse, Cisco. Her first job was as a clerk in the Sears store. She graduated from Central Catholic High School and received a scholarship to St. Francis University where she earned her teaching degree and met her husband, Larry L. Haiflich. She later earned her master's degree in education from St. Francis University as well.

Sandy began a stellar 51-year career in education when she was hired as an English teacher at Northside High School. She sponsored the Drama Club and encouraged students to get involved in activities while also focusing on their academics. She was highly respected by her colleagues and students, and she quickly became a principal at Portage Middle School. After 34 years in Fort Wayne, Sandy and her husband moved to Goodyear, Arizona, where she continued her career as a site administrator and district director in the Agua Fria Union High School District. She helped the district grow through her administrative positions and her role in HR and as the Director of Assessment and Accountability.

Sandy is predeceased by her father, Carl Boneff, and her mother, Dorothy Boneff. She is survived by a brother, Carl, and her husband, Larry, to whom she was a loving wife for 55 years. She adored her great niece, Ashlyn, and was very proud of her accomplishments.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date in Fort Wayne, Indiana.
