Nancy Montiel Obituary

Goodyear, AZ - Nancy Montiel (Shackett) passed away on February 16, 2026 in her home with her daughter by her side after a short battle with cancer. Nancy was born on December 2, 1946 to Kenneth and June Shackett (Dike) in Middlebury, Vermont. From Vermont, Nancy moved to California where she became a devoted fan of the San Francisco 49ers and Giants. She was somewhat of a celebrity as she was known for decorating the downtown area in red and gold to support her 49ers. She moved to Las Vegas for a few years and finally made Arizona her home to be close to her family. Nancy was a kind and giving soul who would do anything for anyone. Those who knew her loved her. She was quick to make friends due to her great sense of humor and caring nature. She was a huge animal lover and was known as the "cat lady" due to the amount of cats she rescued. She is survived by her daughter, Kelly Comstock-Snell, four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, three brothers, husband and her son John Comstock Jr. There will be a celebration of life held on March 14, 2026 at Roman's Oasis in Goodyear from 1:00-4:00 p.m.
