Laura Leigh Simon Woodruff Obituary

Buckeye, AZ - Laura Leigh Simon Woodruff passed peacefully on June 26th surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with Cancer. She was born on July 9th, 1965 in Mesa, Arizona, to Ronald and Lona Simon. Her youth was spent in 6 states before graduating from Dunwoody Georgia High School at 18 in 1983. Her cheerful and inviting personality attracted friends wherever she lived, bringing light and fun wherever she went. She was always friendly with those who needed a friend.

Laura married her sweetheart, Timothy Woodruff, in the Atlanta Georgia Temple on January 6th, 1990. They had an adventurous life. Tim's success provided many awards and trips to exotic places. However, the greatest joy of her life are her three children and their families. Laura was a very intentional wife and mother and was always there for her family in any situation. Her life was anchored in her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ and she taught her children to trust Him as well. Her love for children in general brought her great joy. She loved serving in the Primary and was always happiest whenever she was called to serve the children in her ward. They knew she loved them and they learned of Jesus' love for them. Laura was also a mentor and advisor to her children's friends as they often sought her advice. They knew they would always receive loving and helpful council. Laura was a blessing to all who knew her. Her wisdom will be missed.

Laura is survived by her Husband Timothy, Children, Tori Thompson (James), Tyler (Erin), Cameron, and three darling grandchildren; Leila, Myla and Theo.

Laura was the second child born into a large and loving family of 8 children. Each of her siblings love her dearly and will greatly miss her. She is survived by her parents, Liesa Naegle (Karl), Niel (Kara Leigh), David (Pei-Wen), Amy Petersen (Jason), Rebecca Clements (Chris), Steven (Lindsay), Kimber Nielson (Eric), and 33 Nieces and Nephews who love her dearly.

Laura is loved and will be missed by many, and we look forward to the time we will all be together again in the Realms of Heaven.
