Tonopah, Arizona - In Loving Memory of
Johnny Duran Ramirez
November 29, 1965 - May 20, 2025
It is with heavy hearts and deep love that we announce the passing of Johnny Ramirez, a devoted father, son, brother, cousin, boyfriend and friend, who peacefully departed this life on May 20, 2025, surrounded by the ones he cherished most. Born in Phoenix on November 29, 1965, he spent his entire life in Arizona, calling the Goodyear and Avondale areas home.
Johnny was preceded in death by his father, Joaquin Camacho Ramirez. He is survived by his loving children Christina, Gabriel, and David Ramirez; their mother Rachel L. Ramirez; his loving partner Annette Turner; his beloved mother Maria Duran Ramirez; and his siblings Joaquin D. Ramirez and Velvet Ramirez. He also leaves behind his cherished aunt and uncle, Antonio and Nilza Ramirez, along with many nieces, nephews, godchildren, cousins, extended family, and friends who meant the world to him.
Johnny had a deep appreciation for the simple joys in life — family gatherings, cars, music and the outdoors. A lifelong NASCAR enthusiast, he found happiness at Phoenix International Raceway, where he never missed a chance to cheer on his favorite driver, Jeff Gordon. Whether it was the roar of the engines or the gathering of his family and friends back at camp, it was his kind of paradise.
Johnny was also a San Francisco 49ers fan, cheering his team on every season, regardless of the score. His passion for sports was matched only by his love for the outdoors. He enjoyed camping trips with family his entire life.
A true lover of the classics, he had a deep affection for oldies music and vintage cars — both of which brought a spark to his eyes. Above all else, family was at the heart of everything he did. He found his greatest joy in the company of his children, girlfriend and cousins, creating memories that will live on through laughter, stories, and the strong bonds he nurtured.
Those who knew Johnny will remember his warm heart and his ability to make everyone feel welcome and smile. He lived his life with love, humor and compassion.
He leaves behind a family who will continue to honor his legacy with love and gratitude. Though he may no longer be with us in person, his spirit will always be felt — in the sound of a race car, a favorite oldie song and in the memories we hold close.
A celebration of Johnny's life will be held:

First Southern Baptist Church
