Idonna Mabel Scott Obituary

Buckeye, AZ - Idonna Scott passed away on March 2, 2025, in Buckeye, Arizona, at the age of 77.

Born on October 21, 1947, in Missoula, Montana, Idonna moved to Cashion, Arizona, at the age of 10. She graduated from Tolleson High School in 1966 and began her studies at Glendale Community College that fall. During this time, she married her first husband and had four children.

In 1984, Idonna married Joe Scott, with whom she built a life rooted in faith and family. Together, they ministered to people near and far, including a mission trip to China. Upon returning, they moved to Germantown, Ohio, where they started a small church. While working full-time at the Iams factory in Leipsic, Ohio, Idonna proudly earned her associate degree.

In 1996, Idonna and Joe returned to Arizona to be closer to most of their children. They later adopted their grandson Christian and lovingly raised him.

Idonna worked at Rubbermaid before joining Parker Hannifin, where she formed lifelong friendships, most importantly with Zennia, who is not only her best friend but a cherished member of the family.

Upon retirement, Idonna dedicated herself to her church, family, and friends. She never met a stranger—only friends she had yet to know. She loved all animals but had a special fondness for birds. She had a passion for travel. Her adventures took her on cruises to Mexico, Alaska, and the Caribbean. She visited Argentina in March 2024. She made it a point to collect rocks and seashells from every place she visited.

She also fulfilled many bucket list dreams in her later years, including a hot air balloon ride with a champagne breakfast, a safari in South Africa and Zimbabwe with a visit to Victoria Falls in Zambia, indoor skydiving at iFly, and trips to San Francisco and Sequoia National Forest.

She was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Madge Rediger; her brother Charles Akers; her daughter Penny Jordan; her son Doug Scott; her great-grandson Cayden; and her beloved husband of 37 years, Joe Scott.

Idonna is survived by her brothers Melvin and Albert; her sister Margie; her children Christian, Kelli (David), Tessi (Ben), Rick (Tommye), Scott (Angel), Dallas, Shannon, Joey, and Jay (Kristine); as well as 20 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

"My Father's house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me..." - John 14:2-3

Idonna will be forever loved and cherished by those she left behind, but we find peace knowing she is in her Father's house.

Flowers will be accepted at Hamblen Chapel between 12:00-1:00p.m. on March 11th.
