Geraldine C. Looney Obituary
Buckeye, AZ - Born the eldest of eight children to Melvie and Henry Gulledge, Geraldine C. Looney lived a life defined by devotion, resilience, and love. She passed peacefully with her husband of 57 years, Ben D. Looney, by her side.
Together, they built a family rooted in strength and purpose, raising two children, Attorney Shalanda Marie and Clarence Eric. She was a proud grandma to Attorney Megan Marie, Bryson, Cameron, Erica, and Donovan.
Geraldine was known for her unforgettable cooking—especially her homemade rolls, ice cream, and macaroni and cheese—her quick and lively speech, bargain shopping sprees, and her encouraging, often humorous pep talks. She also enjoyed challenging family and friends to a good game of SkipBo. Her favorite song, "The Battle Is Not Yours," remains a lasting reminder of her enduring message of strength. She was a faithful member of New Creation Church for over 40 years.
In her final earthly moments, as reflected in the photo above, there was peace—her spirit at rest, surrounded by love, and a quiet transition marked not by loss alone, but by the acknowledgment that her love, wisdom, and strength were not taken, but gently passed on. As Malinda so beautifully said at her service, "Your mission is complete."
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." — 2 Timothy 4:7 (KJV)
In honoring her memory, I will continue her lifelong pursuit of peace, happiness, and faith, carrying forward the values she instilled and the love she so freely gave.
This tribute is lovingly shared in her memory on her birthday, June 17th—a day that will forever celebrate the gift of her life.
