Buckeye, AZ - Alta Lucille (Lucy) Smith has gone home to be with her Lord and Savior on December 24, 2024.
Lucille was born on April 26, 1947 in Bangor, Maine. Her childhood years were spent traveling around the world as her father was in the US Air Force. In the early 1960's her family settled in California where she graduated high school and attended college.
She married in 1966 to William (Bill) Smith and they started their life together in his home state of Pennsylvania where they had their first child. They returned to California shortly thereafter and added three more children to their family. In 1978 they decided to move to Arizona for a job transfer for William. Lucille started working at Bechtel along with her husband shortly after moving to Arizona. She continued her employment at Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station until her retirement in 2017.
Lucille was a kind, humble, funny, dedicated and hard working person. She loved animals (dogs were her favorite). She loved, cared, sacrificed, and dedicated her life for her family. Lucille was predeceased by her husband Bill on November 3, 2016. Lucille is survived by her children Wendy Walls, Jennifer (Efren) Gonzalez, Heath (Kelly) Smith, and Kristy (Ryan) Dennis and her grandchildren Alysa (Sage) Fawbush, Ashely Smith, Caden, Bella, and Miah Dennis along with her dogs Matilda and Snickers.
Lucille will continue to be loved and remembered by her children, grandchildren, sisters, family and friends.
