Text size

Sylvia "Sam" Hull was born April 16, 1939 in Harrisonburg, VA where she lived until graduating from High School. She was the youngest of 4 girls, and was raised by her mother, who baked cakes, and did ironing to support them after her father passed away when she was 5 years old. After originally moving to the Washington, D.C. Area, she later moved to Reno, Nevada where she worked for Sears, Roebuck & Co. for 8 years as collections manager. She spent most of her working years in finance and office management, having spent her longest tenure with AVCO financial services. While at AVCO she was transferred to many different locations in Wyoming, Oklahoma, Utah, and then back to Wyoming. In the late 1980's she worked for Bechtel Co. at the Palo Verde Nuclear Station for 3 years, and during that time met her best friend, true love, and husband for the past 26 plus years, Lester "Red" Hull of Buckeye. They were married on April 20, 1991. After retirement in 1996, they moved to Williams, then Flagstaff, and ultimately settled in Wellton, AZ in 2010. She loved to play the accordion, crochet, fish and hunt.
